Post-Op Dialysis Risk: Likelihood Ratios

The likelihood ratio represents the relative risk (specifically relative
odds) of dialysis compared to the mean risk in the overall group of cardiac
surgery patients. These likelihood ratios were somewhat more
stable in external validation, according to the authors.

The likelihood ratios (LR) associated with each score are:
Score 0 - LR 0.04 (i.e.risk ~1/25 compared to average)
Score 1 - LR 0.3 (i.e. risk ~ 3/10 compared to average)
Score 2 - LR 1.0 (i.e. risk ~ average)
Score 3 - LR 2.0 (i.e. risk ~ 2X compared to average)
Score 4 - LR 6.2 (i.e. risk ~ 6X compared to average)
Score 5 - LR 12.4 (i.e. risk ~ 12X compared to average)
Score ³6  LR 37.9 (i.e. risk ~ 38X compared to average)
